Consortium Partners

AI-BOOST is composed of a strong consortium of seven partners, from six different European countries.

Each partner is bringing their unique expertise to the consortium to reach the project’s objectives.

ZABALA Innovation Consulting, established in 1986, is a foremost international consultancy specializing in innovation strategy and R&D funding. With over 35 years of experience in managing European Union projects and a track record of handling significant projects (like EDI, REACH, FINODEX, IRSUS) with a budget over 40 million euros, ZABALA has established itself as a leader in innovation management. The firm excels in setting up and managing key sector European Platforms such as BRIDGE and BATTERIES EUROPE.
 
In the AI-BOOST project, ZABALA plays a critical role, tasked with the coordination and management of the consortium. Their deep experience in EU projects equips them to lead AI-BOOST efficiently, overseeing project timelines, resources, and strategic consortium activities, ensuring the project’s success in advancing technological innovation.
F6S is a leading global founder and startup network that helps public sector entities around the world to promote, communicate and disseminate technical and research projects. F6S stands for F-ounder-S. Our mission is to help founders and startups grow to solve the world’s pressing social, economic, environmental, sustainability and innovation problems. In addition to F6S’ work with governmental entities, we also work with corporates, investors, research institutions, programs, universities and others in the global startup ecosystem. F6S tools deliver company growth through grants, partnerships, funding, investment, pilot contracts, partnerships, jobs & talent recruitment and company services.
 
In AI-BOOST, F6S is in charge of establishing and implementing the communication strategy of the project, including the creation and feeding of the communication channels to create awareness and disseminate the results of the project. By making use of the its own platform, F6S is also in charge of the open innovation challenges managment.

Cineca is a Consortium composed by 117 institutions among Italian universities and public institutions, which offers support to scientific research, public and industrial, through high-performance computing and the use of the most innovative supercomputing systems based on state-of-the-art architectures and technologies.

Cineca’s aim is to accelerate scientific discovery by providing high-performance computing resources, data management, as well as HPC services and expertise. Cineca hosts a wide range of supercomputers with different architectures, including LEONARDO a pre-exascal system that ranked 4 in the TOP500.

INESC TEC is a private non-profit research association, with Public Interest status, dedicated to scientific research and technological development, technology transfer, advanced consulting and training, and pre-incubation of new technology-based companies.
Present in six sites in the cities of Porto (headquarters), Braga and Vila Real, and with more than 800 researchers, INESC TEC acts from knowledge generation to science-based innovation and performs collaboratively in search for a more sustainable, responsible, and improved world.
 
The primary goal of INESC TEC is to exceed performance in research, while considering its social, environmental, and economic impact, with a commitment to the scientific and technological contribution to foster pervasive intelligence. As so, INESC TEC endeavours to be a relevant international player in Science and Technology in eight scientific domains, Artificial Intelligence, Bioengineering, Communications, Computer Science and Engineering, Photonics, Power and Energy Systems, Robotics and Systems Engineering and Management. Being an institution that operates at the interface between the academic and business worlds, bringing academia, companies, public administration, and society closer together, INESC TEC generates new knowledge as part of its research, and leverages that knowledge in technology transfer projects, seeking impact through both value creation and social relevance.

Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (UPJS) was established in 1959 and is the second-largest classical Slovak university. Belongs to the most successful scientific research institutions in Slovakia, research teams participated in number of national and international projects. Faculty of Sciences is the strongest contributor to the research outputs of the university and key partner in the european digital hub EDIH CASSOVIUM (EDCASS). 

UPJS in cooperation with other partners built the University Science Park TECHNICOM as an internationally recognized centre for research and technology transfer in the field of innovative applications with the support of knowledge technologies. UPJS has established academic security team (CSIRT-UPJS) which represents a unique combination of operational activity, research, and the dissemination of security awareness. For 25 years UPJS has been developing and operating a complex information system for study management, which is used by more than 15 Slovak universities.

UPJS is the founding partner of Košice IT Valley cluster – regional partnerships of IT companies, educational institutions, and regional governments in the Eastern Slovakia.

Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Law conduct the intersdiciplinary education and research activities in the area of data science, artificial inteligence, cybersecurity and digital law.

EIT Digital answers specific innovation needs by, for example, finding the right partners to bring technology to the market, supporting the scale-up of digital technology ventures, attracting talent and developing their digital knowledge and skills.
Founded in 1990, UPF is a public university based in Barcelona that is highly competitive in research and aims to transform education to respond to future challenges.
In a context of major global challenges, UPF has undertaken an imperative commitment as a university institution: to help find solutions for the main challenges facing humanity and the planet, which are set out in the Planetary Wellbeing initiative.
 
The Department of Information and Communication Technologies (DTIC) of UPF has an important track record of active participation in EU projects (67 H2020 projects, many ERC grants (21)). DTIC-UPF is the only Spanish university ICT department that has been awarded a second time the Maria de Maeztu research excellence seal by the Spanish government.
